Zander Paterson’s Debut Single ‘Sleeping’ Is Open-Hearted and Enticing.

The close to confessional lyrics and organic vocal performance from Zander produce admittance to an emotional unrest that feels palpable and synergistic.

“Is there something more than this, or am I just dreaming when I’m sleeping?” Zander opens with the type of introverted rhetorical question we might all find ourselves asking from time-to-time, and we are greeted immediately with an instrumental akin to the likes of Matt Maltese or Big Thief.

The grandeur of acoustic piano and driving bass contrasts the delicacy of the acoustic guitar, tight-roping between country and soft rock. There is maturity and detail in the songwriting and the performance is endearingly charming.
